A historical study of Moll Flanders

The eighteenth century has been known for the start of novel writing, although a handful of novels have been authored, Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe is one of its most important books.In order to be able to reach the hidden layers of meaning of the book it is better to challenge the historical account of the period initially and then scrutinize the work of art; so for that purpose the author has decided to study some of the aspects of history including religion, economiccondition, lifestyle and the literary history of the period. Among these the ideas and theories ofFrank Kermode could be mentioned, then a short biography of Daniel Defoe and in the end a study of Moll Flanders according to all the aforementioned elements.
