Abstract:Background:gametogenesis is a biological process that is sensitive to environmental agents. Nanoparticles have nano scale diameter and they can across through cell membrane. Despite the wide application of them, there is lack information about their toxicity on spermatozoa Objective: the aim of present study is evaluate the silver nanoparticles on acrosome of spermatozoa Materials and Methods:In this case-control study, in experimental group, 24 malewistar rats (purchased from Yazd medical faculty)(8 rats/group) received oral feeding silver nanoparticles every 12 hours in one spermatogenesis period (48 days) by gavage in 25, 50 and 100 mg/kg concentration. Control group (8 rats) were treated on schedule with distilled water.Then rat's spermare stained by triple staining protocol for acrosome reaction Results: all dose of silver nanoparticles shown negative effect on sperm's acrosome. Our result shown significant difference (P<0.05) between control group and experimental groups. Also, dose-dependent increases in silver nanoparticle in experimental groups were observed Conclusion: the results suggested that silver nanoparticle may across through sperm's membrane and induce acrosome reaction. Also these particles stimulate cell apoptosis
