Abstract:

Using batter pile in foundation of structures is studied to increase bearing and reduce structure settlement by structure theorists and this system can be a good choice despite its high stiffness and scant direction. This study has a seismic evaluation of a bridge pier in eastern Azerbayijan and two combined piles with two bearing piles and four batter piles and next state the entire bearing piles are considered and various earthquakes are applied on these systems and are studied in terms of seismic behavior. Good results regarding these modellings are achieved. We can say in most kinds of soils, batter piles show their acceptable stiffness and act better than bearing piles in vertical and horizontal earthquakes. A bridge in Tabriz city is modelled and two cases are modelled one as common vertical and one case as four oblique piles and two vertical piles and are tested during three earthquakes and behavior improvement is about 2-10% for the changes in relative displacement.
