Abstract:
The color spaces supported by ENVI include the Hue, Saturation, Value (HSV), the Hue, Lightness, Saturation (HLS) and the USGS Munsell. The HSV color space is very important and attractive color model for image processing applications. The transform converts RGB coordinates into HSV. This color system is used by soil scientists and geologists to characterize the color of soils and rocks. This color system has been modified by the U. S. Geological Survey to describe color in digital images. The research area is located about northeast of Esfahan. Hydrothermally altered zones are southwest of Ardestan. RGB to HSV transformation was performed on ASTER data. Results showed transformation is able to separate Alteration zones using geological map and field observations.
