Bending analysis of laminated skew plates using extended Kantorovich method abstract
In this paper, the bending analysis of thin symmetrically laminated skew plates with fully clamped edges is investigated and a semi analytical solution is presented. The governing partial differential equation (PDE) for skew plate is obtained by transforming the differential equation in Cartesian coordinates into skew coordinates. Application of the Extended Kantorovich Method (EKM) reduces the governing PDE to dual set ordinary differential equations. These equations are then solved analytically, in an iterative manner until convergence was achieved. Comparisons have been made with the available results in the literature which show the accuracy and efficiency of the method. Some new results for the bending analysis of the laminated skew plates such as the effect of skew angles, lay-up configuration and geometrical parameters for different composites laminates are presented for future references.
