Abstract:

Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) have been used for degradation of organic materials in aqueous solutions in the last few years. These processes have risks due to presence of hazardous organic materials and presence of processes that have physical/chemical nature. In this novel article, for the first time, it was studied process risk assessment and controlling risks in decolorization process of colored aqueous solution by an AOP in a bubble column reactor (BCC) by powerful process method of HAZOP with studying process parameters deviations. Results showed that gas flow rate, solution pH, color concentration, reaction time, liquid height in reactor were major parameters for HAZOP risk assessment. Results of risk numbers calculations before control actions showed that after applying control actions, all risk numbers decreased 50%, that this decrease, was completely significant. This decrease showed that all of proposed and suggested control actions were appropriate and effectiveness.
