Abstract:
Recent review studies of neurofeedback effectiveness generally indicate that more rigorous scientifically controlled studies still need to be undertaken. On the other hand, due to the lack of enough research in Iran about the effect of neurofeedback training on the treatment of Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, the present study aimed to investigate the efficiency of Neuro feedback training on strengthening executive functions (based on CSI-4) in ADHD students in Tehran. Children with ADHD were divided into two groups include treatment and control groups. The study population consisted of all patients with ADHD admitted to Razi Psychiatric Training Center in Tehran the sample size was estimated to be 28 patients include 14 patients (7 boys and 7 girls) in each group. For gathering data in pre-test and post-test, the parent form of the Child Symptom Inventory-4 (CSI-4) was used. The results of comparing the means in the neuro feedback training group in pre-test and post-test by t-test showed that the mean ADHD symptoms of the group decreased significantly from pre-test to post-test.
