شناسایی اکوتیپ های چند جنین انبه ‭(Mangifer indica L.) ‬از ژرم پلاسم محلی هرمزگان

This study was carried out to identify the polyembryonic mango genotypes from the present local germplasm of Hormozgan province testing the adapted trees aged over 49 years. Finding such polyembryonic genotypes could to a great extent facilitate the improvement of scion and rootstocks since they are easily propagated through seeds while maintaining the horticultural traits. Fresh seeds were collected from mature fruits and planted in the glasshouse at Minab Agricultural Rsearch Sation, Hormozgan. The criterion for genotypes to be polymbryonic was the production of 3 or more seedlings on average from one seed. None of 1500 trees assessed in this study was found to be polyembryonic indicating that local mango germplasm of Hormozgan province is monoembryonic.
