Controlling the cut-on frequency of near infra-red filter by the adjustment of mixing ratio of SiO2-TiO2 Nano composite

Abstract:
In the present research, we introduced a sinusoidally corrugated photonic crystal consisting of SiO2 as a low index material and SiO2/TiO2 Nano-composite as a high index material. The proposed structure can be utilized as a multichannel infrared filter. Optical properties of SiO2/TiO2 mixture can be tailored by the adjustment of mixing ratio. Transmission spectrum of the devised photonic crystal for five different volumetric ratio of TiO2 was calculated through the finite difference time-domain method. The results of the present study ascertained the enhancement of cut-on wavelength by the increment of TiO2 content of high index material.
