Abstract:
Petrophysical properties of the Ilam Formation that is one of the important Iranian reservoirs have been studied by using routine well-logs from a well drilled in an oil field located in southwest Iran. Reservoir properties of the Ilam Formation have been investigated in this paper. In other words, this paper presents a description of how the reservoir properties are determined in this aforementioned carbonate reservoir. For this purpose, a predictive modelhas been constructed by petrophysical software, and Well-log data have been used as inputs. A full set logs of density, neutron, gamma, resistivity, and sonic are available. The performance of the constructed model verified by core data (porosity). This model can determine the values of effective porosity and water saturation. Also, the lithology of the studied reservoir can be defined. Final results indicate Ilam Formation is made up of calcite and dolomite. Thisreservoir is absolutely clean. Moreover, with depth increasing, the porosity values decrease as well as water saturation increases. Therefore, it can be concluded that the upper section of the Ilam has better reservoir properties than lower
