Abstract:

Corrosion is one of the most important problems and challenges in cooling system of nuclear reactor that have adverse effects on this system. In this new article, for the first time, it was done risk assessment of corrossion in cooling sysyem of nuclear reactor by FMEA methodology. Results showed that amounts of risks decreased ۵۰% after applying control and prevention actions. These showed the desirable and effectiveness of suggested and designed control actions. Flow-Accelerated Corrosion (FAC), Galvanic corrosion, Stress-corrosion cracking (SCC), Crevice Corrosion & Pitting corrosion, Microbiologically-Induced Corrosion (MIC) and General corrosion was considered in risk assessment. These are the most important forms of corrosion in cooling system of nuclear reactor.Research highlights -Risk assessment of corrosion in cooling system of nuclear reactor was investigated for the first time. -Powerful methodology of FMEA was used for mentioned purpose.-Effective controlling actions were suggested in risk assessment.
