Abstract:

In this work graphene quantum dots (GQD) nanoparticles with maltose precursor are prepared for the first time and loaded onto Fe۳O۴/TiO۲ nanocomposites by hydrothermal method. The characterization by HRTEM, N۲ adsorption/desorption and TGA of new nanocomposite showed spherical morphology, mesoporous structure with a specific surface area about ۳۸.۰۰ m۲/g and thermostable. This particle is applied as a photocatalyst for methylene blue (MB) degradation under UVA light irradiation. Moreover, MB decomposed with direct oxidative degradation in electron photogeneration transfer. The efficiency of removal was obtained up to ۸۰% at photocatalytic dose of ۰.۵ g/L, pH of ۱۱, and MB concentration of ۱۰ mg/L under ۹۰ min irradiation. The photocatalytic removal of MB revealed the first-order kinetics under irradiation.
