Abstract:
The end milling process is one of the most commonly metal cutting process in industry because of its ability to remove material faster with desirable surface quality. The effects of various process parameters on milling like spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut have been investigated to Impact on material removal rate and surface roughness by using Taguchi methodology. An orthogonal array L۹۳۴, the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) was carried out to investigate and identify the significant factors that are affecting to the surface roughness. The main purpose of this work is to study the effect of process parameters on Aluminum Alloy AA۶۰۶۱-T۶ surface. Finally, the numerical optimization technique has been used to find out bestoptimum milling parameters. The optimal set of process parameters has also been predicted minimize the surface roughness. The result shows that good surface finish can be generated with high spindle speed, high feed rate and using average depth of cut
