Abstract:

Purpose: Regarding the design of an applicable electronic book reading system for children and adolescents, this study struggles to prepare a conceptual model in this case.Method: So we used the quantitative approach and the Delphi method to analyze data. In this regard, criterion-based sampling is used to identify the research population. Therefore, ۱۵ experts were identified who had criteria such as having subjective publications, teaching experience, and so on. We factually supposed that these experts could present much more information than we expected to collect. Moreover, ۸ electronic book systems were selected to be reviewed, because of their many active audiences, and their international and also standard presence. In fact, we firstly identified practical criteria in designing electronic books by extracting them from related resources and also checking active systems. The data helped us to prepare the checklist draft and it was completed after passing the validity control step with the participation of three experts. Then the checklist was presented to experts in the Delphi panel. Finally, consensus on the components was reached after three rounds of the Delphi panel.Findings: The findings showed that in designing electronic books for children and adolescents, there are five original components. The components include display screen features with ۱۲ criteria, screen organization with ۱۳ criteria, interaction and feedback with ۸ criteria, search and retrieval features with ۱۰ criteria, and help and guidance features with ۱۰ criteria. Conclusion: The study, display screen features with a score of ۳, ۷۰۶, and interaction and feedback with a score of ۳, ۷۰۰ were selected as the most important components in designing electronic book systems by Delphi experts interface children and adolescents library.
