Abstract:

All over the world, due to the dominance of English in both scientific and international communities and in all aspects of human communication, countries are trying to apply the most appropriate and productive content to teaching English. Also, as a person who plays a small role in this realm, and because of the direct relationship between this discussion and my field of study, teaching, I have decided to perform a role in the investigation of the strengths and weaknesses of the newly published seventh grade English book. This book is the first prescription of many years of attempt, study and investigation of the professors who wrote it. However, not only does it need to be reviewed and corrected but also it requires minor and major modifications. This brief investigation intends to evaluate the students’ performance in mastering the four major skills ofEnglish language, namely speaking, listening, reading, and writing in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses. It specially aims to examine the main problems of the students in the areas of oral skills viz listening and speaking. Some solutions are offered accordingly.
