Abstract:

In this article, the transfer matrix method has been implemented to analyze the reflection coefficient for ۱D quasi-periodic phononic crystals of symmetric, Fibonacci, generalized Fibonacci, and Thue-Morse structures. The solid-solid (lead/epoxy) structures have been regarded with semi-infinite layers of lead on either sides. The results indicate that the pass- or stop bands for the longitudinal or transversal wave’s propagation could be effectively controlled by quasi-periodic structures. According to the outcomes, S(۳), S(۴), and TM(۵) structures present high quality narrow pass bands in the vicinity of alarge common stop bands for either of longitudinal and transversal modes which provide polarization selectivity. The TM(۵) structure presents highquality-factor of ۳۱۴۷ for the transmission of the transversal mode while suppressing the longitudinal mode at identical frequency range.
