Abstract:
In this paper, a pithy description about theICCP1 also known as TASE.2 is presented. The ICCP allows data exchange of WAN2sbetween a utility control center and otherutilities, power pools, regional-control centers, power plants, substation computers, and Non-Utility Generators. After reviewing the history of ICCP, the standardization of this protocol as IEC 60870-6 TASE.2 is reviewed. Then protocol architecture together with conformance blocks is explained. ICCP divides the entire ICCP functionality into 9conformance block subsets. Each conformance block represents a specific function or set of functions that a utility might wish to implement. Finally the differences between the type of products on the market and the implementations of this protocol in the utilities are discussed in order to help customers to choose among availableproducts according to their needs.
