Abstract:
ABSTRACT
Combining cementing materials in concrete mixes has become an increasingly important feature. Materials may include natural wastes, industrial wastes, and by-products, as well as energy-efficient materials. The secondary cementing materials are used widely in addition to fly ash, rice husk ash, silica fume, granulated blast furnace slag, and Metakaolin. As it is known, Kaolinite is calcined to yield Metakaolin. For improving mortars and concrete's mechanical and durability properties, pozzolanic materials have been extensively used. This paper presents an analysis of partial cement substitution with MK in mortars and concrete. In addition to discussing the fresh properties of concrete and mortar, the paper further explores their mechanical properties and durability characteristics.
