Abstract:

Nowadays, especially in densely populated cities, social interactions have decreased for a variety of reasons, and this decline in communication, has been very noticeable and has personal and social effects on our lives. Collective spaces can invite people and activities from private into public states and create social spaces that allow people to meet each other, increase interactions, and create a social life. Physical and psychological needs of a person, both should be met in their living spaces. Individuals should be able to participate in different social events, interact with different social groups, and develop their relationships. The formation of public and urban spaces, allows people to gather and interact. In cities and public spaces, there should be specific places where communal activities take place. Previous studies have shown that any type of activity for human communication can also affect the quality of life. The present study is a descriptive survey method. The library research method was also used to collect theoretical basis about housing, social life, and related design standards. Then, by designing a questionnaire and distributing it among people who have experienced living in a residential complex, the components affecting the creation of a desirable social life in the residential complex are classified and then the importance of these factors is ranked. The results of the questionnaire show that security and comfort are effective factors for the presence of people in space, and the proper design is one of the most important components in choosing a collective space.
