Abstract:
Autism spectrum disorders are cognitive and neurobehavioral disorders and impair socialization, impaired verbal and nonverbal communication, and limited and repetitive patterns of behavior. In the field of therapeutic interventions to address the disabilities of children with autism, limited efforts have been made in the field of treatment and psychological training. One of the essential components of useful interventions to improve the psychological state of these people is to provide environments with variousstimuli and age-appropriate attention and concentration tasks. Play therapy is a medium in which children express their emotions, feelings and thoughts and communicate in this way. The present study, which is a promotional study, aimed to investigate the effect of play therapy (fluorotime) in children with autism. The results show that play therapy, with its features, teaches a child with autism how to initiate communication by performing appropriate behaviors and facial expressions, and to know how to behaveappropriately for the situation
