Design and Analysis of a Compact Broad-Band Printed MIMO Antenna at the Frequency Range 6 to 30 GHz abstract

In this paper, a broad-band printed multiple input multiple output (MIMO) 4x1 antenna with compact size of (159×46) mm2 has been designed and analyzed to work and employ at the frequency range of 6 to 30 GHz for wireless power transmission and wireless MIMO telecommunication applications. Our designed MIMO antenna system is printed on the FR4 substrate and has a patch shape of circular and ground consists of a slot like patch shape for performing that is used in broad-band operations. Our design is evaluated by obtained simulation results of this MIMO antenna system which have been accomplished with the help of the Computer Simulation Technology (CST) software 2021 version. Through the simulation results, it is found that the S-parameter for a 4-port case is less than -20 dB and the mutual coupling for these ports is very low, which shows the efficiency of the proposed design. Our idea and designed scheme for the MIMO antenna system can be extended to large number of antenna and also for the massive MIMO systems which is a key technology in new generation of communication networks.
