Abstract:

Every day, the sun releases an enormous amount of energy, far more than the entire population consumes. Being that the sun is a sustainable, renewable, and inexhaustible source for generating electricity, not using it seems almost counter-intuitive, especially considering the social and environmental impacts. As concern grows regarding the contribution of fossil fuels to global warming, solar energy is an increasingly power source due to its zero emissions and infinite supply. The basic objectives of sustainability are to reduce consumption of nonrenewable resources, minimize waste, and create healthy, productive environments. Energy efficiency over the entire life cycle of a building is the most important goal of sustainable architecture. Architects use many different techniques to reduce the energy needs of buildings and increase their ability to capture or generate their own energy. Active solar devices such as photovoltaic solar panels help to provide sustainable electricity for any use. Photovoltaic solar energy is obtained by converting sunlight into electricity using a technology based on the photoelectric effect. It is a type of renewable, inexhaustible and non-polluting energy that canbe produced in installations ranging from small generators for self-consumption to large photovoltaic plants. The purpose of this article, is the importance of using photovoltaic solar panels on sustainable houses design. Sustainable strategies in homes architectural is a necessity. Solar energy is one of the most commonly employed strategies in residential architecture. Finally, the benefits of installing these systems can be seen in a short period of time, with a reduction of up to ۹۵% in the monthly energy expenses, which makes this strategy one of the most important of all sustainable solutions. Therefore, Sustainable design seeks to reduce negative impacts on the environment, and the health and comfort of building occupants and improving building performance.
