Abstract:

Microalgae become one of the hot topics nowadays owing to their distinctive applications and high value bio-products. However, extraction of these high value bio-products from microalgae is a challenging process. Generally, the current methods for microalgae cell disruption are not satisfactory. In this research, a novel approach has been suggested for extraction of high value bio-products from microalgae by using surfactant. To do this, anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and non-ionic triton X-۱۰۰ were added to microalgae (Chlorella sorokiniana sp.) at different dosage. The results reveal that both surfactants showed good ability for cell disruption and EPS extraction (X-۱۰۰ better than SDS). According to the results, adding ۱۰۰۰ mg/L of SDS and X-۱۰۰ could extract ۳۸ and ۵۱ mg/L protein and ۴۰ and ۴۳ mg/L polysaccharide.
