Psychometric Properties of the Corona Disease Anxiety Scale (CDAS) in Farhangian University Students

Introduction: The corona disease epidemic and quarantine have had different effects on the social and psychological aspects of individuals. Diagnosis of anxiety disorders at the time of disease outbreak is essential for planning and intervention. Evaluating the psychometric properties of the Corona Anxiety Scale is a measure that can be used to identify the characteristics of COVID-۱۹-related anxiety syndrome. Therefore, the main purpose of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Corona Anxiety Scale (CDAS) in Farhangian University students. Method: The present study was a descriptive-analytical study and a psychometric study.۲۱۱ individuals participated in the study through online recall. An ۱۸-item Corona-related anxiety inventory was used to collect the data. The data were analyzed by using Cronbach's alpha internal consistency method. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to evaluate the tool construct validity. Confirmatory factor analysis using principal component method was used to evaluate the validity of the questionnaire and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaire. Results: The results of factor analysis showed that by rotating the factors by Obelimin method, two factors are confirmed. Therefore, the number of these factors obtained and the questions that had a high factor load with these factors were largely consistent with the findings of the authors of this questionnaire. It was also found that the whole questionnaire and its factors had a high reliability coefficient. Disscussion: Corona-related anxiety inventory has good validity and can be used as a valid and scientific tool for measuring Corona-related anxiety. The implications of these findings are discussed
