Abstract:

Recently, the need for new CO۲ adsorbents with high adsorption capacity and stability has beenincresed. Nanofiber adsorbents are one of the materials that can be used in this application. In thisstudy, polyurethane (PU) nanofiber adsorbents were prepared by electrospinning and then modifiedwith ethanolamine (EA). Carbon dioxide adsorption experiments were performed in a fixed-bed columnwith a mixture of CO۲/N۲ in (۵-۱۰-۱۵%) of CO۲ . The adsorption capacity of modified PU adsorbentwith ۶۰% EA concentration at ۱۰% CO۲ concentration had the highest adsorption rate. Also, it showsthe high stability of PU adsorbent after four cycles of adsorption-desorption procedure.
