Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the duration of computer gameson cognitive functions of memory and attention and motivation for educationalachievement in sixth grade male students in Golestan province. The present study isa causal-comparative study that is retrospective. This research is a basic researchwith correlation method. The statistical population of the study included all malestudents in the sixth grade of primary school in Golestan province. ۱۵۳ people wereselected through group random sampling and tested according to the purpose of thestudy. The instruments used in this study included the Mspan computer test, thecontinuous performance computer test and the Harter educational MotivationQuestionnaire. Independent t-test was used to analyze the data. The data of this studyshowed that the duration of computer games with cognitive function of attention andmotivation for educational achievement of sixth grade elementary school girls inGolestan province has a statistically significant relationship and the duration ofcomputer games on the memory of sixth grade elementary school girls, it ismeaningful.
