Abstract:

Coupled and uncoupled thermoelasticity of structures with actuator and sensor and their control electronics areof importance to the high-performance structural systems. In this study, considering of the thermal effect inthe precision of control dynamic systems for the condition of coupled and uncoupled thermoelastic compositeplate are studied. The applications of the theory for temperature effects in the precision of dynamic systemswith different control system are discussed and compared with each other. Using linear thermopiezoelastictheory and the first-order shear deformation assumptions, a generic thermopiezoelastic theory forpiezolaminated composite plate with open loop and closed loop systems are derived. Finite element equationsfor the thermopiezoelastic media are obtained by using the linear constitutive equations in Hamilton’s principletogether with the finite element approximations. The structure consists of a modeling of simply supportedpiezolaminated composite plate for open loop system with one actuator on top of the layers and one closedloop system with one actuator and sensor. The structure is modelled analytically and then numerically and theresults of simulations are presented in order to visualize the states of their dynamics deformations and the stateof thermal field. Various dynamic control systems could be used. One of them is the direct proportionalfeedback control algorithm in which a closed control loop to couple the direct and converse piezothermoelasticeffects as a distributed system. It is found that the thermal loading and also the induced temperature is importantin the precision control of dynamic piezoelectric plates.
