Abstract:
The purpose of the present essay is to study the relation between self - regulation and tolerance of ambiguity across Iranian translators respecting their profession and gender. In this research, four groups, ۵۰ novice female translators, ۵۰ profession female translators, ۵۰ novice male translators and ۵۰ profession male translators participated. Each participant filled out two questionnaires separately. The members of novice group were selected from Islamic Azad University North Tehran Branch senior BA students of English translation and the members of professional translators were chosen by convenient sampling among the professional translators who work in translation bureaus. The researcher used Mc Lain questionnaire, TA scale, and Self-regulation scale. After questionnaires were gathered, scoring of questionnaires were done manually after which the data was analyzed using SPSS version ۲۲. An independent samples t-test was used to compare four groups with each other. It was concluded that the four hypotheses were confirmed.
