Abstract:
This study attempts to find the statistical differences between live and recorded storytelling. The participants of this study were students in Intermediate levels of English in Zhivan Language Academy, Karaj. The design of this study was quasi experimental with pre and post-test. After the pre-test was done, the participants were divided into two groups according to their performance on the pre-test. To the experimental group, digital storytelling was used. The story was told to the participants played using a computer. The control group was exposed to the traditional way of storytelling, which means that teachers must read the story to the participants. The results of the study showed that using an mp۳ track has a better effect on the participants’ comprehension and retention. The importance of this study is for the institutions to choose the correct method for teaching the story, which is contained in their educational syllabus.
