Impact of Parenting Styles on Creativity of Children and Teenagers The case Study: Creativity House of Sharif University of Technology

The present study intended to investigate the effect of parenting styles on the creativity level of ۵ to ۱۸ years old children and teenagers. For this purpose, ۲۵۰ parents referred to Sharif University creativity house were selected randomly, and responded to the Baumrind parenting style inventory. Also, their children were tested according to Torrance creativity test. Results showed that only the authoritative parenting style variables related to creativity and could predict it. The remaining three variables, i.e. gender, permissive and authoritarian parenting styles, had no contribution in the predicting of creativity. The findings also indicated that the creativity had no relationship with gender and it cannot be considered as a factor related to gender. Therefore, each four hypotheses were confirmed.
