Abstract:

Education buildings have a need for assembly spaces and significant circulation between formal and informal teaching environments. Such social interaction requires supportive spatial environments that can foster such experiences. The atrium is increasingly including social spaces to improve the quality and experience of the learning environment, and to enhance informal learning. These areas awaken students' interest in learning.The purpose of this article, is the effect of using atrium to improve the interior design of educational Buildings. Atrium are a popular design feature that give buildings a "feeling of space and light." Atrium spaces can provide not only environmental benefits, but can also promote visual perception and vertical movement between floors, facilitating physical activity and social interactions. they create a dynamic and stimulating interior that provides shelter from the external environment while maintaining a visual link with that environment. Such spaces are attractive to students who often spend relatively small amounts of time in formal learning spaces such as lecture theatres, and greater amounts of time in more social and informal environments.
