Abstract:
This paper demonstrates the use of Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) in design and analysis of finite Vivaldi broadband arrays. Geometical parameters of antenna is calculated for use in broadband phase array systems. Here, a single Vivaldi antenna is analyzed over a wide range of frequency (6-18 GHz) and compared with measurements. Theorical and experimental results show good agreement with each other. Then arrays composed of 4, 8, 12 and 16 elements linearly polarized (12-18GHZ) have been analyzed to achive the patterns with desired beamwidths.
