Abstract:

This study points out the dominant word order in Balouchi, Chinese, English and Persian in indicative sentences. The typological word order study of these languages was conducted concerning morpho-syntactic characteristics of them. At first, all languages in this study were categorized into analytic languages category according to morphological framework of Sapir which relates to complexity and transparency of words. Then, the dominant word order of Balouchi, Chinese, English and Persian in indicative sentences was determined. Results from this analysis illustrate that SVO takes priority in Chinese and English while SOV is more preponderant in Balouchi and Persian languages
