Abstract:

School refusal is a term when students refuse to attend a school that can be related to social anxiety, depression, or other forms of psychopathology. This research tries to identify why some students refuse to attend school using SRAS-R by Kearney and Albano (۲۰۰۷). The research is quantitative research on ۵۸ students that have been selected to participate in this research from ۳۶ different high schools across Mashhad, Iran. The main reason for school refusal is trailing tangible rewards outside of school, however, boys are more reluctant to attend than girls for all reasons. Additionally, school refusal behaviour is more visible in public schools than in non-public. Among all selected majors after tangible rewards outside of school, they avoid school due to general school-related stress majors. Lastly, this study did not find the same result as the expected results used with this assessment in previous studies.
