Abstract:

Today, psychological research fully confirms the impact of job satisfaction on mentalhealth and improving people's quality of life, and considering the high number ofemployees in today's societies, research in this field is considered an importantnecessity. Based on this, finding effective factors on this variable can have a significantimpact on improving and increasing the quality of life of individuals and families inaddition to the economic cycle of societies. Working in a resource setting that caters topeople’s poor mental health is associated with increased vulnerability to physical, psychological, and social stressors that make motivation to work a difficult goal toattain. One way of viewing physical and social stressors in the workplace is to evaluatejob satisfaction which has both intrinsic and extrinsic components. The personality ofworkers is a component of psychological wellbeing and this determines the way eventsand situations are perceived. Thus, the achievement of the mission and vision of anorganisation will be dependent on the level of motivation of the employees which willbe influenced by their predominant personality traits and the level of satisfaction atwork. My study aimed to sought to highlight the relationship between motivation, jobsatisfaction and personality dimensions. Our study involved a cross-sectional study ofstaff showing the relationship between motivation, job satisfaction and personality traitsamong mental health workers. To proffer a solution to poor motivation in the workplace, human resource department should give more focus to individuals with high scores inagreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness. This is because it appears that they aremore likely to be motivated at work and likely to move the organisation to a greaterheight. Besides, those with high neurotic scores who have already been employed willrequire some form of psychological remodelling (therapy), so they can contributemeaningfully to the institution.
