The priority-based content centric network for Data/Interest dissemination in VANETs

Content-based communications and data caching, as the basis of the Named Data Networking (NDN) and Content-Centric Network (CCN), are the best solution for content dissemination in the VANETs environment. The main focus of this paper is to prioritize the contents of the Content-Centric Network architecture in the VANETs. Three types of content are considered in terms of their degree of priorities, i.e., safety has the highest priority, traffic efficiency and infotainment have the lower priority, respectively. After searching for the content name, its priority level is specified and the scheduling algorithm is executed. This timing algorithm is implemented on the Content-Centric Network architecture and the simulation results show that the number of Data/Interest packets released in the environment is significantly less than the previous ones.
