Abstract:

Transformer is one of the important components of alternating current transmission and distribution system. A high percentage of the electricity produced in the country is wasted due to losses in power generation, transmission and distribution systems, and transformer losses are one of these losses. One of the most appropriate and economical ways to reduce losses in the country's distribution network is to improve the efficiency of distribution transformers. Therefore, by using appropriate design and materials and taking into account technical-economic plans with short-term and long-term capital return times, effective measures should be taken to improve the efficiency of distribution transformers and reduce their losses, and as a result, any activity in the field Optimizing their efficiency will be very valuable. Was. The use of transformers with suitable cores can significantly reduce the losses of transformers in the network. In this article, in the introduction section, the history of transformers and transformer losses are described. Then the losses of the transformer and its types are briefly explained. The next section describes the three main types of steel cores used in magnetic transformers, including solid iron/steel, multi-layer silicon alloy/silicon steel, and amorphous (stainless) steel. Then, the structure of amorphous core and silicon steel transformers, the amount of losses and the cost of losses have been investigated. At the end, the conclusion is given.
