Abstract:

The optimization of cohesion and adhesion properties of water-based acrylic adhesive is a important factor to reach a good performance. In this study, we used hydroxylated Halloysite nanotube (h-HNT) for water-based acrylic adhesive modification to optimize its cohesive and adhesive properties. The rheological properties measurement shows that the storage modulus and complex viscosity increase with loading h-HNT to ۷۷% and ۸۵% respectively. Also, evaluation of adhesion properties such as peel and tack dramatically enhanced in the presence of ۰.۵wt.% h-HNT.
