Abstract:
Anxiety is one of our natural feelings and common reactions to various conditions and situations; Therefore, as a person becomes happy, sad, angry, etc. during his life, he may also experience anxiety. But in some cases, the intensity of this anxiety increases so much that it disturbs the mental peace of the person and the normal course of his life. To the extent that many of his behaviors, performance and decision-making and even his communication with the surrounding world are disturbed. For this reason, knowing the right ways to treat anxiety is particularly important and can help a person manage it better.Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is one of the anxiety disorders characterized by disturbing, inappropriate and repetitive thoughts, ideas, images or impulses that provoke anxiety and mental resistance (obsessions) and therefore make the person to neutralize the phobia or act based on it. Inflexible rules force overt or covert behaviors (compulsive rituals). Common themes in OCD are pollution, aggression, sexual issues, religion, responsibility for harm, gathering and symmetry. The prevalence of this disorder in the general population is estimated at two to three percent. And it is the fourth most common psychiatric disorder in America, which according to the World Health Organization (WHO) is the tenth cause of disability. However, effective treatments have been devised to treat this disorder, which reduce its symptoms as much as possible. In general, treatments for this disorder are divided into two categories: psychotherapy and drug therapy
