Abstract:

Electricity distribution networks are of high importance because they connect consumers to the transmission and production systems. Studying the reliability of the distribution network reliability has become much more complex due to the development of distributed generation as well as uncertainty of output power of renewable energy resources. Improving the reliability of the distribution network in the presence of renewable resources requires accurate modeling of these resources and the use of hybrid and multi-purpose systems. In this study, a comprehensive structure is presented in detail for modeling and optimizing the combination of renewable wind and solar resources with the storage system and their converters. In addition, a multi-purpose structure is proposed by considering these resources and energy storage systems to cover the uncertainty of the output power of renewable resources, hence improving network reliability.
