Abstract:
The core is often the most important component in sandwich structures. Due to the increased demand in the industry and modern engineering science, lightweight mechanical parts have attracted the attention of many scientists. Due to the extreme properties of porous structures, they are primarily used in engineering structures. Porous structures have been noticed for low density, high strength, and high permeability. These faces would be made from smart materials or nanocomposites in some applications. Also, the pores' placement plays a critical role in their specifications. The use of these structures has been increasing in applications ranging from aerospace structures, bridge constructions, and medical science. This paper aims to review porosity's effect on the mechanical behaviors of sandwich structures.
