Abstract:

Introduction: fish in aquatic ecosystems cause preservation and reconstructing oftheir stocks and in this regard, all of them, including economical and noneconomical fish, have great value and importance due to their important role thatplay in aquatic ecosystems. Also, given to different seasonal effects on abundanceof fish, the present study was done by the aim to determine the frequency of caughtfish in two seasons, summer and autumn, in the Karun River Catchment in the cityof Ahvaz.Method: after obtaining permission from department of environment of the city ofAhvaz, our group refer to Ahvaz for catching fish from Karun River in cooperationwith fishermen and fishing tours in the summer and autumn seasons, and theprocess of catching the fish were performed randomly from different parts of theriver. Then the caught fish (۴۳ pieces) were transferred to the laboratory ofVeterinary Medicine University of Kazeroon, to identify wanted species inrequired conditions. After that the results were expressed in the form of table andgraphs.Results: The numbers of caught fish species in the Karun River were ۷ species,which contained maximum number of Butek (Cyprinion) fish with ۴ pieces, andwhite Shunk fish were the lowest number of fish with ۲ pieces, in summer. And inautumn, the maximum numbers of farmed carp (Cyprinus Carpio) were ۳ piecesand Barbus Pectoralis with ۲ pieces were the lowest number of caught fish.Discussion and conclusion: given the above, it was found that the fish abundance isrelated to the different seasons. As in summer, the maximum abundance of fishwas related to the Butek (Cyprinion) Fish and in autumn, the largest number offish was allocated to the farmed carp (Cyprinus Carpio) fish.
