Abstract:

The wind energy, as a source of stochastic generation, can modify voltage stability margin. In large scale wind integration, the generation capacity is usually distributed between different wind farms and a correlation is defined between wind speed series of these farms. Therefore, in this paper, integration of the correlated wind farms into voltage stability assessment is investigated using a proposed sequential time algorithm. To make the predefined correlation between wind speed series, Copula theory is implemented in the process of wind speed prediction. The proposed process is implemented to the modified IEEE ۳۹-bus test system which comprises ۱۵ wind farms. The voltage collapse risk is calculated and impacts of wind penetration and correlation between wind farms on this study are also investigated.
