Abstract:

With the reduction of non-renewable resources (fossil fuels) in the world, the use ofalternative sources such as nuclear energy has attracted the attention of countries aroundthe world. Today, the use of these materials causes the production of radioactive waste,and its safe management is very important. According to Mojo regulations, radioactivewaste is buried underground and covered with a clay cover. One of the duties of this claycover is to weaken gamma rays. Therefore, to improve the radiation absorptionproperties, samples made with ۱۵, ۳۰, ۴۵% clay mixed with bentonite have been used. Inthis research, the amount of linear attenuation coefficient in three energy levels of ۶۶۲,۱۱۷۳ and ۱۳۳۲ keV has been determined by the Nal (Tl) detector. In this research, thebest linear attenuation coefficient is related to the bentonite sample with ۴۵% by weightof Alvan soil.
