Abstract:
Backrounds: Family-based psycho-education for people with auditory hallucinations has not been implemented and nor addressed to auditory hallucination nursing. This study aims to determine the effect of psycho-education enrichment on the family's ability to control hallucinations in Schizophrenia sufferer.
Methods: It was conducted by pre-experimental design using the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Designs. As much ۳۰ of ۱۳۴۳ families of people with auditory hallucinations were selected with simple random sampling from the Jambi Mental Hospital. The psycho-educational activity was conducted for three meetings with ۹۰ to ۱۲۰ minutes. All of the data collected was analyzed using the Wilcoxon test.
Results: The mean age of ۴۵.۲ years, and the standard deviation of ۱۳.۶. Family psycho-education enrichment was effected on knowledge (p-value < ۰.۰۰۱), family attitudes (p-value < ۰.۰۱۰), and family skills (p-value < ۰.۰۰۱) as they helped to control auditory hallucinations.
Conclusion: Family psycho-education enrichment intervention has an effected on a family's ability to help control auditory hallucinations. The family supposed to use the module to help control auditory hallucinations.
