Abstract:

The present paper attempts to investigate the influence of Rudaki; the ۳th century Persian poet (۹th &۱۰th, AD), through translation done of his works in the west and other countries. Abu Abd Allah Jafaribn Mohammad Rudaki, entitled Adamul-Sho`ara (Adam of Poets) also written as Rudagi, was aPersian poet, and is regarded as the first great literary genius of the Modern Persia, who composedpoems in the ``New Persian`` alphabet (Imami, ۱۹۸۶). Rudaki is considered as a founder of Persianclassical literature and also as the father of Persian poetry (Nafisi, ۱۹۳۰). The translations of Rudaki`works started in European countries such as Germany (۱۸۷۳), French (۱۸۷۷), England (۱۸۹۰), Russia(۱۹۶۴-۱۹۶۹), and other countries like America and Tajikistan (۱۹۶۵). And some translators andscholars translated Rudaki` poems and wrote and talked about him. This paper investigates someviews of scholars, their works and translations on Rudaki in the west and other countries. Thesetranslations, views and works caused his works entered into the most countries and among themRussia and Tajikistan have the main role. Here, the researcher investigates the available translations;then, brings varying views and some scholars` works about Rudaki.
