Abstract:

Orthopedic surgeries are one of the most important surgeries that have a direct impact on the health of the human body. In orthopedic surgeries which the bone tissue is damaged or joint replacement is done, bone drilling should be used so that the bone components can be connected by joints. And in the process of drilling the bone, the amount of axial force applied to the bone must be under control. And if the force increases, the bone tissue will be damaged and cracked, and these cracks may cause loosening the connections, and then the bone will go out of its normal state and the person will experience severe pain in that area And in other cases, the healing cracks by the self-healing property of bone tissue will prolong the treatment process. In this research, by using drills with a diameter of ۳.۵ mm and changing the helix angle parameter of the drill and performing the drilling process at a rotational speed of ۱۰۰۰ rpm, which is a high speed, the axial force applied to the bone was studied and the in the result it is clear that the axial force has increased with the increase of the helix angle and the use of high rotational speeds causes a reduction of about ۵۰% in the force.
