Abstract:

Using artificial lighting increases energy consumption in the building, while lighting with the natural light results in energy saving. Design of a shady system can control and improve the rate of visual comfort. Since the most used light is the south light, therefore, in this study, a room from the south side is modeled and investigated in order to evaluate the visual comfort in the interior of the residential space. To achieve this goal, the visual analysis is firstly accomplished in the investigated room, and then ۶ interior light shelve samples are suggested and the analyses are done for them. The analysis is done for day of ۲۲nd in four month including March, June, September, and December. The modeling procedure is done using by Rhino ۷ software and Grasshopper plugin and then the visual comfort analysis is conducted utilizing Honeybee and Ladybug plugins. It is worth mentioning that the climatic data of Mashhad city is accessed by the EPW. file. The desirable condition of the tolerable lighting, tolerable thermal comfort, and uncomfortable illuminance is obtained for the average daylight ratio between ۴۰-۶۰%. The results illustrated that there is still a need to control the glare of the environment on the south front in proportion to the useful daylight. Among the proposed light shelves, two horizontal light shelves create completely desirable and optimal conditions. Paying attention to the visual comfort of users in the indoor environment leads to an increase in the efficiency of the space quality and environment quality.
