Abstract:
Prometheus, the mythological Greek arch-sinner, has had a foundational and prominent trace of influence on the world literature. Signified as a rebel due to the fact that his transgression involved violating Zeus’s order, his character has captured the imaginations of the writers. In this regard, this paper attempts at carrying out an analytical investigation in Abbas Maroufi’s magnum opus, ‘The Symphony of the Dead’. His portrayal of Aydeen embodies varieties of features in association with psychoanalytical, cultural, social and philosophical perspectives. His promethean characteristics has attributed a sense of individuality to him due to the knowledge he was acquiring about himself.
