An updated list of butterfly (Lepidoptera, Rhopalocera) fauna of Tadoba National Park, Chandrapur, Maharashtra, Central India

The present study was carried out to reveal the checklist of butterfly species in the Tadoba National Park, Chandrapur area of ۶۲۳ sq. km. Study was carried out from ۲۰۱۱ to ۲۰۲۱. A total of ۱۳۴ species were recorded, with an addition of ۲۷ new records for Tadoba National Park. Of the total, ۶۰ species were very common, ۳۴ species were common, ۹ were frequent common, ۱۹ were rare, and ۱۲ were very rare. Most of the butterflies recorded belong to the Nymphalidae (۴۳ species) with ۴ new records. Of Lycaenidae, ۴۱ species with ۱۲ new records. In Pieridae ۱۹ species with ۳ new records were recorded. A total of ۲۰ Hesperiidae species with ۶ new records and ۱۰ species were recorded from the Papilionidae with ۲ new records and one species recorded from the family Riodinidae. About ۱۲ species of the recorded ones come under the protection category of the Indian Wild Life protection Act ۱۹۷۲. The study provided an updated list of butterflies of Tadoba National Park.
